Pride Films and Plays will be holding a cabaret fundraiser, Gay Beret Cabaret, hosted by Rehab, on Saturday, July 9 at 9 PM. Rehab is at 3641 N. Halsted Street, Chicago, and admission to the event is only $5. Ben Lerman (www.benlerman.net), New York's very own ukulele superstar, is headlining, and the beautifully elegant Honey West (www.honeywest.com) will be our emcee.

Pride Films and Plays will be bringing you the best of the best in queer cabaret entertainment, with various musical and performance acts ranging from ukulele musical comedy to burlesque, and everything in between. Due to the eclectic nature of our group, we are expanding our performance horizons and exploring just how much we are capable of. You've seen our play readings; you've entered our playwright contests; now come, crush a cup of vodka cranberry, and enjoy the stellar entertainment we're bringing you.

If you would like to be involved, or better yet, if you're interested in performing, please contact Kris Hyland at kris.hyland@gmail.com. There are still a few performance slots available. If you don't think you're a fit for the show, THINK AGAIN! We welcome all forms of expression and would be glad to involve you in our event. It's for a GREAT cause.

Pride Films and Plays is also celebrating Pride Month with Gay UK, a series of staged readings of LGBT work from Great Britain. For more information on that event, go here.
