By: Gabrielle Sierra May. 27, 2011
Pride Films and Plays will present a special Women's Work performance of lesbian literature, Dangerous To Ourselves, hosted by Gerber/Hart Library, on Thursday, June 16 at 7:30. Gerber/Hart is at 1127 West Granville, Chicago, and the event is free.
Compiled by PFP ensemble member Derek Van Barham, Dangerous To Ourselves will feature a combination of lesbian prose, poetry, drama, stand-up, essays, and interviews. Through the voices of many, the story of a universal woman will emerge. "Such women are dangerous to the order of things," writes poet Adrienne Rich. "And yes, we will be dangerous to ourselves."Pride Films and Plays is also celebrating Pride Month with Gay UK, a series of staged readings of LGBT work from Great Britain.
