The Players Club of Swarthmore Presents SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION Image

The Players Club of Swarthmore presents Six Degrees of Separation, one of the greatest American plays of our time, written by John Guare (The House of Blue Leaves, Landscape of the Body, A Free Man of Color). Six Degrees of Separation examines the threads of chance that link one person to another, in this splendidly funny, often disquieting, exploration of the way human beings define themselves and classify each other. Winner of the 1993 Olivier Award for Best Play and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award. Six Degrees of Separation is directed by Michael Steven Schultz. Tickets are available online at www.pcstheater.org. For group rates, contact groupsales@pcstheater.org.

Six Degrees of Separation is about Ouisa (Ruth Wells Fisher, Swarthmore) and Flan (Jim Ludovici, Media), a wealthy New York couple who take in Paul (Dominic Santos, New Castle,DE), a young man who cons them into believing he's a friend of their son at Harvard and the son of Sidney Poitier. After they discover Paul's lies Ouisa and Flan piece together his true identity and their connection to him, as well as the similar encounters their upper-class friends have had with Paul. The show explores the existential premise that everyone in the world is connected to everyone else by a chain of no more than six acquaintances.

Additional cast members in Six Degrees of Separation include Kevin Doerr, Havertown; Richard Paci, Lansdale; Karen Johnston, Lansdale; Bert Zug, Media; Julia Zahm, Coatesville; R. J. Szymczak, West Media; Kyle Weisenberg, Avondale; Owen Burk, Swarthmore; Brian Moore, West Chester; Avery Leach, Clifton Heights; Julie Holdredge, Ridley Park; Tamin Yurcaba, Lansdowne; and Jim Ewald, Philadelphia.

Six Degrees of Separation runs from Friday, Mar. 15, through Saturday, Mar. 30. Thursday performances are at 7:30pm, Friday and Saturday performances are at 8pm, Sunday performances are at 2pm. Audiences can meet the artists in a talk back discussion following the Mar. 24 performance. Buy tickets online at www.pcstheater.org, by calling OvationTix at 866-811-4111, or at the door.
