In celebration of Tony Award-nominated composer Paul Gordon's recent relocation from Los Angles to New York City, Paul has released an archived and unknown video from his time as a pop Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter in the 1990s. Co-written with former rock band TOTO frontman, Joseph Williams, (and recorded with much of the TOTO band), the song "I Am Alive", features Paul's rocking vocals and brilliant writing. The song will also be performed this Tuesday, June 23rd at 9:30pm by Broadway stars JEREMY KUSHNIER and CLARKE THORELL at a concert celebrating the catalog of Paul Gordon at 54 BELOW, entitled "The Music of Paul Gordon", featuring music from many of his award-winning shows including, JANE EYRE, DADDY LONG LEGS, EMMA, SENSE & SENSIBILITY, THE FRONT, LITTLE MISS SCROOGE, and GREETINGS FROM VENICE BEACH.

The concert will feature Broadway stars Sarah Stiles (Tony-nominee for Hand To God, Into The Woods); Jeremy Kushnier (Jesus Christ Superstar, Footloose); Abby Mueller (Kinky Boots, Joseph...); Andrew Samonsky (Hunchback..., Mystery of Edwin Drood); Lianne Marie Dobbs (Emma, White Christmas); Clarke Thorell (Annie, Hairspray); Christy Altomare (Mamma Mia); Dani Marcus (Emma, Vanities) and some surprise guests. Paul Gordon has written many pop songs, including the "#1 songs: "Next Time I Fall" recorded by Peter Cetera and Amy Grant, and "Friends and Lovers," which was #1 on both pop and country charts. He was nominated for a 2001 Tony Award for the music & lyrics to the musical Jane Eyre. He won a 2009 Ovation award for his music & lyrics to Daddy Long Legs and won the 2007 Bay Area Critics Circle Award for his libretto to the musical, Emma, at The Old Globe. Daddy Long Legs, written with and directed by John Caird, has had productions all over the world including London, Canada and Tokyo, and will debut in New York in 2015. Sense and Sensibility, commissioned by Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, recently Opened in Chicago to rave reviews. His pop musical, Analog and Vinyl, selected for the 2013 NAMT Festival, had its first production at the Weston Playhouse in 2014. The World Premier of Little Miss Scrooge, written with and directed by John Caird, debuts on Christmas of 2015.
