Jim Caruso is proud to present Ty Stephens & SOULJAAZZ in concert, as part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series. The event will take place on Monday, June 27 at 7pm.

Ty Stephens & SOULJAAZZ return to Birdland with their elegantly funky mix of jazz, R&B and standards, with a few Broadway show tunes to celebrate a background in theatre. Embarking on their 4th year as the Opening Band at the famed Sporting Festival in Monte Carlo, where they have opened for Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, Steely Dan, Eric Clapton, Celine Dion, Diana Ross, Alicia Keys, Charles Aznavour, Gilberto Gil, Grace Jones, Tom Jones, and Elton John, SOULJAAZZ features Richard Cummings, Jr. on Piano; Ron "Rondew" Monroe on Bass; Tony Lewis on Drums, and R.T. Taylor on Guitar. The band recently debuted in Vladivostok, Russia, as part of a cultural exchange sponsored by the U.S State Department and the local Philharmonic. They'll return there in the Fall to host the Vladivostok Jazz Festival, and are preparing for more European tour dates in 2012 to support their upcoming studio recording project. To date, Ty Stephens and the band members have produced, recorded and released 3 CDs of original songs: Musichameleon ('96); Deeper In Fantasy (2000) and Aquarian Mind ('06). Ty Stephens was in the original casts of Sophisticated Ladies and Marilyn, An American Fable.
