THE SONGS OF U2 BC/EFA Benefit Set for Birdland, 3/16

Scott Siegel (Creator, Writer and Host of The Town Hall's Broadway By The Year series) and Maxine Linehan (Star of Beautiful Songs at the Metropolitan Room) present The Songs of U2, a star-studded St Patrick's Eve concert event to benefit BC/EFA. The one night only concert will take place on Monday, February 16th at Birdland Jazz Club in New York (315 W. 44th Street). Come to Birdland on Monday, March 16th at 9:30 PM, the eve of St. Patrick's Day, to hear the music of what Rolling Stone dubbed "the biggest band in the world." This internationally famous Irish band is one of the world's best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide. U2 has won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band; and, in 2005, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility.

The music of U2 will be performed by New York's most celebrated Broadway and Nightclub Stars, among them Broadway's Elizabeth Stanley (On the Town), 2X Tony Nominee Bob Stillman, Brian Charles Rooney (The 3-Penny Opera), and Nightlife Award Winner Carole J. The concert will be hosted by Irish-born Maxine Linehan whom Stephen Holden of the NY Times described as a "Fiercely Talented", The Huffington Post called her "Glorious" and The Irish Voice said she was "A Once-in-a-decade revelation". This benefit concert for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is produced by Scott Siegel & Maxine Linehan, with musical direction by Ryan Shirar and Andrew Koss.
