Sister Duo to Return to The Duplex with VICKIE & NICKIE'S HOLIDAY SLEIGH RIDE

The well-known, hilarious musical-comedy sister duo, Vickie & Nickie, are returning to The Duplex in NYC with their seasonal show, Vickie & Nickie's Holiday Sleigh Ride for two performances on Friday, December 1st at 6:30pm and Saturday, December 9th at 4:00pm.

During this celebration of the holiday season "Minnesota-style", the multi-instrumental, singing housewife sisters will entertain with sidesplitting interpretations of your favorite holiday tunes and pop songs, wacky originals, fun family stories, improv and audience participation. Created, written and performed by real life sisters Lisa and Lori Brigantino, the fast talking mid-western moms come to you straight from their prison circuit tour to celebrate the season all while accompanying themselves on many different instruments including acoustic and electric guitars, keyboard, accordion, saxophone, ukuleles, percussion and more!

The Brigantino sisters have performed several Vickie and Nickie shows to date to rave reviews: Jenna Esposito of Broadwayworld.com says, "The talented Brigantino sisters put on a show unlike any other - their characters are complete, well-rounded, and immensely entertaining, and their musical talent is undeniable!" Lisa and Lori Brigantino have been performing together musically since they were children. Lori (Vickie) is an actor, singer and multi-instrumentalist with a major in theatre and a minor in music from SUNY Fredonia and is a graduate of The William Esper Studio two year Meisner Actor Training Program. She has also studied acting with Suzanne Shepherd. Her credits include The Last Nickel at The NYC International Fringe Festival, Trials & Fibs Off Broadway at The Soho Playhouse and several Off-Off Broadway plays and independent films. Lisa (Nickie) is an award-winning singer/songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist with a Master of Music degree in music composition & music theory from SUNY Fredonia. She writes for film, TV, theater, dance and more. Lisa released her second critically acclaimed solo CD "Wonder Wheel" in 2010 and is currently recording her next album. Lisa was an original member of the all girl Led Zeppelin tribute band, Lez Zeppelin (bass, keyboards, mandolin), and toured internationally with the band, playing A list venues and festivals around the world. Lisa left Lez Zeppelin in 2009 to focus on her own original music. Together, the sisters also regularly perform Lisa's original songs at regional clubs, coffeehouses, house concerts and festivals.

The Brigantino sisters were last seen as Vickie & Nickie in 2016 at The Duplex performing their holiday show, which they also did in 2015 and 2014 at Don't Tell Mama to, sold out houses. In 2013 they were featured as the musical guests at the Irish Arts Center's special holiday edition of Sundays at Seven Comedy Night. In 2012 they premiered their holiday show, Vickie & Nickie's Jingle Bell Jamboree at the Cutting Room in NYC. Recent past performance include the main stage at Dixon Place in NYC June 2012 with their show, Inside Vickie & Nickie, and December 2011 with a successful premier of Vickie & Nickie's Holiday Sleigh Ride. The creative sister duo have written and performed ten full length Vickie & Nickie shows to date including: Inside Vickie & Nickie at the Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta, NY where they also brought their two set show Vickie & Nickie's Sizzlin' Summer Spectacular and The Best of Vickie & Nickie, 'Tis The Season With Vickie & Nickie which played to sold out houses at Don't Tell Mama, and The Vickie & Nickie Dream Tour which had very successful runs in NYC at Upstairs at Rose's Turn and The Duplex. In addition, Vickie and Nickie have made appearances in many variety and comedy shows in NYC including: Sundays at Seven Comedy Night at the Irish Arts Center, Kim Smith's Vauxhall Kabarett at Vlada, Danny Leary's Variety Extravaganza at Comix, The Talent Show Brand Variety Show at The Gershwin Hotel, Listen To This at The 92nd St. Y/Tribeca, Becky Donohue and Danny Leary's The Cocktail Show at Don't Tell Mama, and The Rocha Dance Theatre's Glamour Bash at Galapagos in DUMBO. Currently, the Brigantino sisters are in production for their first season of web shorts called "Vickie & Nickie Flickies."
