The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced more talent performing at the NAMT Songwriter Spotlight concert September 7th at 7:00 PM, part of Jim Caruso's Broadway at Birdland series.

The Labor Day concert features Broadway stars Kate Baldwin (Finian's Rainbow), Jenn Colella (High Fidelity), Kerry O'Malley (White Christmas), Charlie Pollock (9 to 5), Steve Rosen (Guys and Dolls), Sarah Stiles (Vanities A New Musical), Wesley Taylor (Rock of Ages), Josh Young and more.

The concert highlights writers who have appeared in NAMT's Festival of New Musicals over the last 20 years. The writing teams featured are David Kirshenbaum (Summer of '42; Party Come Here!; Vanities, a New Musical), Dan Lipton & David Rossmer (Joe!) and Brad Alexander & Adam Mathias (See Rock City & Other Destinations). The writers will discuss their shows and invite their Broadway pals to perform their songs.

NAMT's Festival of New Musicals has showcased hits like Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Drowsy Chaperone, HONK, and Children of Eden. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will support NAMT, a not-for-profit organization, and NAMT's New Works programs including the 21st Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place in October.

Come enjoy a fun evening of song and celebrate these talented writers from 20 years of NAMT Festivals! To purchase tickets, go to http://namt.org/birdland09.aspx

NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR MUSICAL THEATRE

Founded in 1985, the National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) is a national service organization dedicated exclusively to musical theatre. Our 150+ members, located throughout 31 states and 8 countries, include theatres, presenters, universities, and independent producers who share our commitment to nurture the creation, production, and recognition of new musicals and classics. Last season, NAMT members cumulatively staged over 26,000 performances attended by 15 million people. NAMT has presented its annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS since 1989. The Festival makes "a major impact in the world of musical theatre," according to American Theater Magazine, by bringing together leading theatre producers and musical theatre writers. NAMT's other programs include conferences, new works summits, and the National Fund for New Musicals which provides grants to support the development and production of new musicals.
