Megan McGinnis to Host 'Monday Nights, New Voices' on 9/29

The fourth year of the acclaimed series, ‘Monday Nights, New Voices,’ will continue on September 29th with special guest host Megan McGinnis, who recently stared as Éponine in the Broadway revival of Les Misérables.

The monthly series, which celebrates and honors up and coming talent and is produced by composer Scott Alan, will boost the talents of Demi Fragale, Jake Glassman, Molly Hager

Each of the talented performers will sing selections from the evening’s special guest composer and lyricist, Adam Gwon, who will also be on hand to accompany the performers at the evenings concert.

Barbara Anselmi serves as the series Musical Director.

The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is located in Manhattan at 61 Christopher Street. There is a $12 music charge and a two-drink minimum; for reservations call (212) 255-5438.

Megan McGinnis recently closed the Broadway revival of Les Miserables as Eponine.  Previously, she created the role of Beth in Little Women and starred as Belle in Beauty and the Beast.  Other Broadway credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie, Parade, and The Diary of Anne Frank.  She has also toured the country as Liesl in The Sound of Music with Richard Chamberlain and played Lily in James Joyce's The Dead at the Kennedy Center, the Huntington Theatre, and ACT.  Other credits include current developing shows: Dangerous Beauty and Picnic at Hanging Rock. Film/TV: Anywhere But Here, A Goofy Movie, and guest appearances on "Wings," "Dear John," "Sister, Sister," and "Blossom" (recurring). 

Adam Gwon is a composer/lyricist named one of “50 to Watch” by The Dramatist magazine.  His musicals include Ordinary Days, which recently premiered at Pennsylvania Centre Stage, will make its UK premiere at the Finborough Theatre in London this fall, and will be featured in this year’s NAMT festival; Bernice Bobs Her Hair (with librettist Julia Jordan), recently seen at Primary Stages; Ethan Frome (with bookwriter Michael Ruby) and Lulu.  His work has been seen at the York Theatre, NYMF, NAMT, American Music Theatre Project, the ASCAP/Disney Musical Theatre Workshop, New Dramatists, and many others.  Adam was a 2006-07 musical theater fellow at the Dramatists Guild, and is a graduate of NYU/Tisch.  He’s currently at work on commissions from Broadway Across America and the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA.  Visit www.adamgwon.com.
