Frank Harts (Salt with Angelina Jolie), Austin Ku (Whatever Man), Rachel Lin and Marcus Ricci will lead a premier reading of Madame Pascal, an original alternative rock musical, July 31st and August 1st at the Nuyorican Poets Café.

The show features book by Rakesh Baruah and music and lyrics by Marcus Ricci.

Madame Pascal is a fictionalized version of the life of Adam Pascal, originator of the role "Roger" in the musical Rent. It tells the story of a frustrated rock musician who on a lark finds himself a celebrated Broadway icon. With the inspiration of a Korean-American prostitute whom he accidentally meets in a bar, Adam rejects the Broadway and modeling gigs booked by his good friend and agent, Barry Morgenthal, and risks fame and stardom for the chance to live his dream. Madame Pascal is a heart-felt, original musical that weaves together plot and thematic elements of Rent, Miss Saigon, Madame Butterfly and M. Butterfly to tell a story about American masculinity and its fragility. Jumping from 1990's New York City to a Japanese POW camp in the Pacific Theater during World War II, it is the story of a boy who becomes a man, a man who becomes a woman, and the loneliness and love within us all.

Tickets are $15, or $10 with a printed copy of the flyer found here:
