Lillias White Returns To The Green Room 42 For Encore Show
THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - has announced the return of Tony Award winner Lillias White on Monday, June 18 at 7:00 PM. Currently back on stage in the new musical Half Time, White will offer a reprise of her February evening sharing music of love, lust, and loss in an intimate performance. Featuring music from Tim McGRaw, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Cole Porter, and Nat King Cole, Lillias runs the gamut of the American Songbook
Lillias White, the Tony and Emmy award winning singer and actress of stage, screen and television brings her incomparable talent back to The Green Room 42. Admired for her work on Broadway musicals, and called "incredible and heart wrenching" by BroadwayWorld.com, she began winning awards from her debut performance in Barnum and has continued to receive well deserved accolades ever since, recognized with an Obie for Romance in Hard Times, a Drama League Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Dreamgirls, both a Tony and Drama Desk award for Featured Actress in Cy Coleman's The Life, and a nomination for her work as Funmilayo in Fela Kuti's Fela!
Other stellar accomplishments on the stage include Cats, Once on This Island, Carrie, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Hair, Funny Girl and Chicago. Ms. White also won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Performance in Children's and Family television for her work on Sesame Street and has provided the voice of Calliope in the Disney animated series Hercules. Her feature film roles include Pieces of April with Katie Holmes and Patricia Clarkson, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. On television she's had memorable roles on "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit," "Gotham," and "Person of Interest." She's most recently made a splash in the role of Fat Annie on the acclaimed Netflix series "The Get Down."
Lillias White will return to The Green Room 42 (570 Tenth Avenue at 42nd Street, on the 4th Floor of Yotel) on Monday, June 18 at 7:oo PM. Cover charges are $35-$40 with $75 premium tickets (which include a signed poster, meet & greet and preferred seating). There is no food and drink minimum.
