Justin Sayre Hosts THE MEETING At The Duplex 10/14

By:

The Meeting* is a hit monthly comedy/variety show for homosexuals and their friends. A "gay" romp through politics, sexual and otherwise, social news, music, skits, and other important life-changing information. Produced by Adam J. Rosen and Robby Sandler, The Meeting* returns to The Duplex Cabaret Theatre on October 14th at 9:30 pm with writer/host Justin Sayre. Past "agenda items" have included the continuing romantic saga of gay penguins at the San Francisco Zoo, a nativity play celebrating the birth of Quentin Crisp, a guide to the so-called "gay panic" defense, and musical numbers with Poor Baby Bree and The Gay Agenda. The October show will feature special guest star Cole Escola and a speciAl Halloween tribute to the fabulous witches of stage and screen, from The Wizard of Oz to Bewitched to Hocus Pocus.

The Meeting* operates under the myth of the "gay agenda" and is structured as any organizational meeting for homosexuals would be, where business of the day, upcoming events and social issues are discussed, ridiculed, and interwoven between comedy sketches, musical numbers, and other "homo-hijinks." Audience response has been ecstatic.

From an early age, Justin Sayre demonstrated a supernatural instinct for "camp," an ability that shines throughout The Meeting*. Justin is a child of Forty Fort, PA, who moved to New York believing it was still 1947. He was terribly misinformed. In 2006, Justin received rave reviews for his cabaret, "Without A Song." As an actor, he has worked and studied with some of the finest professionals in New York. As a gay, Justin has excelled at scarf placement, Judy hands, and a healthy but firm love of the American musical.

Actor/Comedian Cole Escola stars in the sketch comedy program Jeffery & Cole Casserole on LOGO TV. He is also one half of the VGL Gay Boys, a YouTube comedy sensation. Cole has since become a fixture on the New York City downtown scene and has performed in live shows at venues throughout New York, including Joe's Pub and Dixon Place. He is very proud to have played a special needs child on an episode of Law & Order.

The Meeting* occurs at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, located at 61 Christopher Street at 7th Ave, New York, NY 10014, 10/14/10 at 9:30 pm. There is a $10 cover charge and a two-drink minimum. You must be 21+ years of age to attend. For reservations, please visit www.theduplex.com. For more information visit facebook.com/TheMeetingWink.
