Gregg Edelman, Natalie Toro and More Set for MAKING ROOM ON BROADWAY, 6/15-16

The Museum of the City of New York will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its beloved Perform! series by showcasing the best of Broadway musical cabaret featuring lead performers Gregg Edelman, Michael McElroy, Christianne Tisdale, Natalie Toro, as well as Musical Director Christopher McGovern on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16.

Written and directed by the accomplished Michael Montel, whose Broadway work includes Inge's Summer Brave, McCuller's The Member of the Wedding, and Barry's Holiday, this upcoming weekend's performances elegantly weave songs and stories about New York living space, inspired by the City Museum's exhibition Making Room: New Models for Housing New Yorkers. The production will showcase popular tunes befitting the theme, such as "Blue Room" and "Dancing on the Ceiling" by Rodgers and Hart, and "Home" from The Wiz, as well as works by Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and Cole Porter.

Mr. Montel is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Museum's Perform! series. His off-Broadway productions include Arlene Hutton's Last Train to Nibroc, and the American premiere of Christopher Hampton's Treats. His York Theatre production of Darling of the Day was named by Time magazine as one of the ten best shows of 2005. Internationally his work includes Lost in Yonkers for Tel Aviv's Cameri Theatre andNibroc for the Edinburgh Festival.

Making Room on Broadway: A Musical Theater Cabaret will play Saturday, June 15 at 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 16 at 3:00 PM at the Museum of the City of New York at 1220 Fifth Avenue (btw. 103/104 Sts.).
