Gate69 Goes Full Throttle with CATHY AND THE TROLLEY DOLLIES, CAMP COMEDY and MACBETH! THE ADULT PANTO
Gate69, the Purple Palace in the heart of Cape Town's city centre, has announced its exciting entertainment line-up through the end of the year. With the time of the year when everyone is looking for an excuse to have a good time fast approaching, Gate69 is the perfect venue for Capetonians as well as local and international visitors to the Mother City to let their hair down, whether simply part of a night out on the town or at a corporate year-end function, birthday, anniversary or divorce party. With a brand-new menu, unparalleled service and the inextinguishable enthusiasm of the staff, Gate69 is an ideal setting for celebrating life with friends, family and colleagues - and even total strangers.
Currently on stage through 7 October is CATHY AND THE TROLLEY DOLLIES - FULL THROTTLE. Cathy, Holly and Molly are back - and this time, they are even bigger and better than before! Instead of flipping everyone the bird and taking to the skies, these three sassy stewardesses have decided to exercise a little patience, stick around a while longer and give patrons one last chance to get their asses into their seats. And because they're naughty but oh-so-nice, the Gate69 team has glammed it everything up even more.
Next, from 23 October until the end of the year, Cathy, Holly and Molly will serve up some hocus pocus and drag the hell out of witchcraft in MACBETH! THE ADULT PANTO. Definitely not Shakespeare the way everyone remembers it, MACBETH! THE ADULT PANTO promises "big hair, big tits and even bigger musical numbers", with a touch of glam giving this old yarn the kiss of life that it has been aching for.
Finally, for one night only on 6 November, audiences had better assume the brace position for a landing in CAMP COMEDY, where South Africa's foremost comedians join forces to bring audiences the most outrageous, uproarious, side-splitting, not-be-missed, comedy extravaganza! The legendary Alan Committie takes charge as our master of ceremonies extraordinaire. One of South Africa's leading and most loved hosts, he never disappoints and is sure to slay even the shadiest of queens, queers or mother-in-laws and get them frolicking down the aisle in no time. Also on the menu is comedy royalty who needs no introduction, the HAIRlarious Marc Lottering, with the boisterous Rob van Vuuren, the unruly Shimmy Isaacs and the irresistible heavy-weight of hilarity, KG, also on the bill. This illustrious cast of comedians will be joined by The Trolley Dollies, who will be sure to buckle everyone up for "one helluva ride."
