Daniel Koren to Bring THE MOST IMPORTANT THING to Joe's Pub

By:

Joe's Pub at The Public presents the official premiere of The Most Important Thing, the new show from Emmy Award-winning comedian and composer Daniel Koren, on July 5, August 5 and September 16. The Most Important Thing is Koren's delightful debut musical comedy show and features him on piano and guitar accompanied by the Koren Ensemble - a choir of his alter egos, projected onscreen. Tickets ($15) are available now online, over the phone (212-967-7555) and in-person at The Public Theater's box office (425 Lafayette, NYC).

A YouTube phenomenon and regular on the standup circuit, Koren is known for his hilarious and innovative music videos, featuring his own multitude of talents, in addition to composing music for television and directing. The Most Important Thing posits Koren in a new light - a fully formed live performance. The show, which details Koren's search for what is the "most important thing." has been previewed and developed on stages like the Public Theater's Under the Radar festival, UCB, Comedy Central Stage (LA), Noorderzon Festival (Holland) and Tmuna Theater (Israel).

In this newly born iteration, Koren finds room for spontaneity within his highly synchronized work. He utilizes the Joe's Pub stage as a platform to pull his audience in and make connections.

Daniel Koren, who was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel, is an Emmy Award-nominated comedian and composer based in Brooklyn. Upon graduating from Berklee College of Music, Koren moved to New York and has been composing music for television, and directing commercials and music videos. His innovative musical-comedy work with the Koren Ensemble, gained excessive popularity and received more than a million views on YouTube. He is currently on tour with his latest project, The Most Important Thing, a musical comedy live show, with a choir of his own alter egos projected on a screen. In addition, Koren has continued developing his brand of comedy, until in 2014 sold an original a comedy series to Comedy Central. He's currently working on other original shows, both for Digital and Television.
