Cesar Rocha, Rachelle Rak, et al. to Judge BE A DIVA, 10/3

In coming weeks Marty Thomas presents DIVA at Industry Bar will host several Broadway celebs as part of their Be A DIVA competition. This Monday, Oct. 3 is Showtunes/Broadway night in the competition. Guest judges will include Cesar Rocha (Bernard Telsey casting director, featured on Dance Moms), and Rachelle Rak (Catch Me If You Can, Oklahoma, Thou Shalt Not, Fosse, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels). Next Monday, Oct. 10 Saturday Night Fever star and Tony nominee Orfeh, will guest judge!

Marty Thomas presents DIVA is a weekly show presented at Industry Bar in midtown Manhattan (355 W. 52nd Street between 8/9 ave). Every Monday at 11, Anne Fraser Thomas (How the Grinch Stole Christmas!), Kelly King (Michael Bolton, Babyface) and Kat Hennessey (Wicked, Cirque du Soleil) take to the stage to pay tribute to some of histories most over the top icons in gowns and jewels. There is never a cover charge, it's a brand new show every week and ...the show always features a special guest as well. In the past the stage has welcomed Saycon Sengbloh (Wicked, Fela, Hair, Aida), Felicia Finley (Smokey Joe's Cafe, Wedding Singer, Aida), Ramona Keller (Bklyn!, Smokey Joe's Cafe), Brandi Chavonne Massey (The Color Purple, Wicked, Caroline or Change), Rachelle Rak (Fosse, Catch Me If You Can, Oklahoma), Alysha Umphress (American Idiot), Rachel Potter (The Addams Family), Stephanie Gibson Chase (The Addams Family), Bethany Moore (Spiderman), Sabra Johnson (So You Think Can Dance Season 3 Champion) and many many more.

The time has come to find a new NYC nightlife superstar! We have selected an elite group of 8 contestants who will be vying for the title of Industry's newest DIVA. They will be competing elimination style before a panel of celebrity judges and a capacity crowd at Industry for an incredible prize package that includes cash, paid gigs at Industry, a head shot package with makeup artist Joseph Hubrich and stylist, a day of beauty, a custom gown by designer Todd Barnes and many more prizes and surprises! Applicants had to be beautiful, talented, posses star quality stage presence and be able to transition seamlessly from musical genre to genre. They also had to be impeccable musicians, able to pick up and memorize music and harmonies as well as choreography quickly. DIVA does a brand new show every single week after all. Hundreds of girls auditioned......8 were selected to move on.

The Be a DIVA competition cast includes Jenna Miller, Kristin Piacentile, Cara Samantha Scherker, Alyssa McGuigan, Janine Ayn Romano, Jennifer McGill, Victoria Modica and Shira Elias.

The competition began on Sept. 5 and will continue for 8 weeks. 2 hopefuls have been elminated thus far and this coming Monday is the highly anticipated Broadway week! Come to Industry Bar, where there is never a cover charge and cheer on your favorite diva! Place your vote and follow the contest weekly to help her take it all home!
