Brian d'Arcry James to Appear at Schadenfreude, 4/10

Broadway star Brain d'Arcy James will be appearing at Schadenfreude in The City That Works this Saturday night.  Brother of Schadenfruede's Kate James, he will be playing a crooner in a sketch about a house band on the Northwest Side. The performance is a collaboration between Schadenfreude and the band The Jordan Years.

The event will be held at Gallery Cabaret at 9PM. Tickets for the show are $10 aand can be purchased at: http://www.schadenfreude.net/.

James is currently starring in Time Sands Still and was previously seen on Broadway as the title character of Shrek.  In early 2008, he was seen in Second Stage Theater's production of Next to Normal.  Other recent Broadway credits include The Apple Tree, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The Lieutenant of Inishmore. He received a Tony nomination and Drama Desk nomination for his portrayal of Sidney Falco in the Broadway production of Sweet Smell of Success. Other Broadway credits include Titanic, Carousel, Blood Brothers, and Les Miserables.

 Formed in 1997, Schad began performing sketch comedy on Chicago's north side. The troupe has since performed at countless venues around the world including The Goodman Theatre, The Second City, Steppenwolf, Lollapalooza, ImprovOlympic, the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, HERE, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The ensemble has headlined numerous sold-out venues at annual Chicago Improv Festivals and was the first group to receive the CIF's "Festival Highlight Award."
