Tickets to Opera San Jose's 2015-16 Season on Sale 7/27

All tickets for Opera San José's 2015-16 season will go on sale to the general public on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 9 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.operasj.org or by phone at 408.437.4450 or in-person from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at our corporate headquarters, 2149 Paragon Drive, San Jose, CA 95131.

Tickets start as low as $50 in the Mezzanine Ring and go up to $150 maximum for Grand Tier seating. Students 25 years and younger with a valid student can purchase tickets for $10.

Opera San José kicks off its 32nd season with a new production of Puccini's Tosca, which runs September 12 - 27, 2015 at the California Theatre in San Jose followed by Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, November 14 - 29, 2015. Opera San José will start 2016 with its third production; Bizet's Carmen, February 13 - 28, 2016, and will conclude the season with Previn's A Street Car Named Desire, April 16 - May 1, 2016. Each production will run for six performances.

Opera San José's resident company for the 2015-16 will include soprano Isabella Ivy, who recently sang the role of Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute. Ms. Ivy also played Lilia Herriton in Opera San José's world premiere of Where Angels Fear to Tread and made her debut for the company as Gilda (Rigoletto), followed by Elvira (The Italian Girl in Algiers).

Tenor Kirk Dougherty returns after having recently performed the role of Tamino in The Magic Flute. Mr. Dougherty made his Opera San José debut as the Duke in Rigoletto and sang Philip Herriton in the world premiere of Where Angels Fear to Tread last February.

Baritone Matthew Hanscom will also return. Mr. Hanscom recently played the role of Papageno in The Magic Flute and made his company debut as Rigoletto, followed with Taddeo (The Italian Girl in Algiers) and Gino Carella (Where Angels Fear to Tread).

Bass Silas Elash will also return. Mr. Elash performed the role of Sarastro in The Magic Flute as well as Sparafucile in Opera San José's production of Rigoletto. He has appeared in more than 26 roles with Opera San José.

Guest artists will include Olga Chernisheva as Tosca, Ben Wager as Figaro, and Ariana Strahl as Blanche DuBois.
