Merola Opera Program to Host 'Opera & Ornaments' Concert Tomorrow

The Merola Opera Program presents Opera & Ornaments: A Merola Opera Program Holiday Concert, Saturday, December 13, 2:00pm in the Community Hall of the Lafayette Library (3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd.). This special holiday concert features opera, classical and holiday selections performed by renowned opera performer Eugene Brancoveanu.

An honorary Tony Award winner for his performance as Marcello in Baz Luhrmann's Broadway production of La Bohème, Eugene has been acclaimed for his work with San Francisco Opera, LA Opera, New York City Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Romanian State Opera among others. He has been seen in lead roles with Walnut Creek's Festival Opera. Eugene was a 2004 member of the Merola Opera Program and was then selected to be an Adler Fellow with the San Francisco Opera.

For 57 years, the Merola Opera Program has been the cornerstone of San Francisco Opera's training and performance programs for promising young artists, Merola has served as a proving ground for hundreds of artists, including Anna Netrebko, Thomas Hampson, Susan Graham, Patricia Racette, Deborah Voigt and many others.

Opera & Ornaments: A Merola Opera Program Holiday Concert, will be performed in the Community Hall of the Lafayette Library, located at 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd. in Lafayette. Free parking is available.
