Singer and popular icon, Eddie Fisher died Wednesday, September 22 from complications to a hip surgery. He was 82.

Fisher was one of the most successful singer of the 1950s, known for hits such as "Thinking of You," "I'll Hold You in My Heart" and "Tell Me Why." Fisher was also featured in several variety shows including "Coke Time with Eddie Fisher" and "The Eddie Fisher Show."

Equally famous for his personal life, Eddie married actress Debbie Reynolds in 1955 (their daughter is actress Carrie Fisher), only to divorce her for actress ElizaBeth Taylor in 1959. He was also married to Connie Stevens in 1967, and the two are parents to actress Joely Fisher. Fisher was married twice more - to Terry Richard and then Betty Lin, who died in 2001.

Fisher also appeared on film in the musical comedy 'Bundle of Joy' with Debbie Reynolds in 1956. In 1960, he played a more serious role (opposite ElizaBeth Taylor) in the drama 'Butterfield 8.'
