Doomtree's SIMS Releases Free EP
As a THANK YOU to supportive fans, SIMS releases a FREE EP today called Wildlife EP. The EP consists of a collection of 5 songs that were made in 2009 and 2010 while recording his recently released full length album Bad Time Zoo.
The EP also serves as a preview to the upcoming "Good Time Zoo Tour," which kicks off in a few weeks in Salt Lake City, UT. Joining SIMS on the tour will be fellow Doomtree members Lazerbeak, Cecil Otter, and Paper Tiger. Pre-sale tickets are still available here (username: sims / password: tickets). Sims is a MN native and founding member of the independent hip-hop collective Doomtree (which also includes P.O.S, Dessa, Cecil Otter, Mike Mictlan, Lazerbeak, and Paper Tiger). He found solace in rap and R&B music, nurturing a love for mainstream hits as well as then-underground artists such as the Wu-Tang Clan. Sims' music is drawn "a lot more from human interaction than from music, I listen and try to understand how people function." Through touring, hard work, and paying dues, he solidified his calling. Combining thoughts and sounds, Sims listens to the world around him.
Fellow Doomtree cohort Cecil Otter is an emcee & producer Cecil has contributed to over a dozen records and most recently released Wugazi: 13 Chambers with Swiss Andy, an intricate mash-up of Fugazi and Wu-Tang Clan. Check it out HERE. Cecil is currently recording his follow up album to 2009's Rebel Yellow currently titled Porcelain Revolver.
