Washington, DC audiences will have the pleasure of seeing tap dancer, actor, choreographer Savion Glover this weekend (August 23-25 at 8pm) at The Howard Theatre [620 T Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001]. The tapping marvel has been dancing since childhood, and made his mark as the star of The Tap Dance Kid on Broadway before he was even a teenager. Now, Glover's work can be credited with helping to maintain tap dance as a staple of the modern dance world - he won a Tony award for his choreography for the musical Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk, and served as co-choreographer for the Oscar-nominated film Happy Feet.

Glover's quick steps and amazing rhythms continue to influence the lives of young people. His production company tours schools across the country, spreading enthusiasm for tap dancing and cementing his place in history.

Described by The New Yorker as "the greatest tap virtuoso of our time, perhaps of all time," Savion Glover brings his trademark style and energy to The Howard Theatre for three nights of performances that are sure to bring the audience to its feet.
