In his early career Roberto was featured as a principal dancer and soloist with such renowned Spanish dance companies as Jose Greco, Jose Antonio, Alberto Lorca, and Rafael De Cordoba, as well as many prestigious companies in the United States. Roberto is widely recognized for his mastery as a performer and teacher. His exceptional background had brought him to the forefront as one of the country's most respected and gifted teachers and choreographers. His unique skills as a master of both flamenco and classical Spanish dance have kept students returning to his classes for over 30 years.

As a result of his reputation for excellence, producers of stage, film and television have sought Roberto out as dancer, choreographer and dance consultant on a number of prestigious projects. He was awarded the inaugural 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Santa Barbara Flamenco Society.

As co-founder/lead vocalist/writer/arranger of the musical group CARMEN, Roberto Amaral took an adventurous, life changing departure from an already established career as an internationally recognized flamenco dancer and choreographer. Known as the first band to ever fuse flamenco with rock, both musically and visually, CARMEN caught the attention of the world with its 3 groundbreaking albums as well as critically acclaimed European and U.S. live appearances with such rock luminaries as David Bowie, Jethro Tull and ELO.

Now, as a solo artist/writer/producer, Roberto continues to combine his unique trademark approaches to songwriting, arranging and production to create a vibrant pop/fusion sound. Incorporating musical elements closest to his heart, R&B, flamenco, Latin, pop, rock, classical and jazz, Roberto aptly refers to his music as EXOTIC CONTEMPORARY. www.amaralstudio.com
