In an article in the Huffington Post, 39 of the world's greatest dancers explain why they love to dance for a campaign called #WhyIDance, which was inspired by dance programs around the world, such as South Africa's Dansazania project and Brazil's House of Dreams.

From pure passion to strength to challenge and more, 39 dancers explain by starting off with the sentence, "I dance because...."

Agnes de Mille says, "To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more beautiful, more powerful. This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking."

Maykel Solas, Ballet San Jose says, "I dance because I enjoy expressing my feeling and emotion in many ways. And it makes me happy."

Alexandra Basmagy, American Ballet Theatre: "I dance because I get to be something different everyday."

Kayla Rowser, Nashville Ballet: "I dance because I love sharing a piece of my soul with the world through movement."
