The Dancewave Gala, one of Brooklyn's premiere cultural fundraisers, brings together prominent individuals in the forefront of arts, education, politics, philanthropy, and business. The 2017 Spring Gala, taking place on April 26, 2017 at Roulette, Brooklyn from 6-9PM, raises awareness and funds for Dancewave's primary mission: providing all NYC youth access to a supportive dance experience that embraces and encourages individuality and equips students with the life skills to unlock their full potential as people and community members. Public support for Dancewave's mission enables Dancewave to provide youth development through dance: bringing dance into public schools, offering affordable dance classes to Brooklyn youth, and providing teens with opportunities to learn the work of world-renowned choreographers by performing in pre-professional companies and ensembles.

Dancewave's 2017 Spring Gala honors four-time Princess Grace Award winning Choreographer Camille A. Brown, dance advocate and Founder of the Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) Jody Gottfried Arnhold, and NYS SenatorVelmanette Montgomery. Past honorees and presenters have included Emmy award-winning choreographer and So You Think You Can Dance judge Mia Michaels, ABT's Misty Copeland and Paloma Herrera, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and New York City Council Members Laurie Cumbo,Jimmy Van Bramer, and Stephen Levin.

In celebration of dance, diversity, and community, the night will feature performances by Dancewave Companies & Ensembles. In 2016, for the first time ever, Dancewave funded Dancewave Ambassador Scholarship Awards offering full tuition scholarships to 7 Company and Ensemble students. Gala proceeds support Dancewave's Scholarship Initiative and Dancewave's arts education outreach program, D-Wave in Motion. Tickets go on sale March 1, 2017. Pre-sale tickets are offered at a discounted rate of $125 until April 5, 2017; regular price $150 and VIP tickets sell for $200.
