Ballet Tech's KIDS DANCE Set for Joyce Theater, 6/9-12

KIDS DANCE is back! Ballet Tech's remarkably poised, scrupulously schooled and impeccably rehearsed whiz-kid dancers are busting at the seams to dance for you. Eliot Feld's A Yankee Doodle comes to town, with a feather in its cap.Dotty Polkas bounces off the walls and across the stage, and both Quickstep and UPSIDE D∀N?E return to the repertory, June 9-12 at the Joyce Theater.

More exciting news? There will be brand new dances by guest choreographers Brian Brooks and Julia Eichten. Eliot Feld has long been committed to building a repertory of original dances created especially for youngsters, dances that Feld says are "dreamed up and composed by boffo dance makers, for fledgling dancers to hone their skills and whet their imaginations. And, of course, they will delight the eye and enchant the fancy of audiences of all ages."

The first contributions to Ballet Tech's library are in the works. The wonderful dance maker Brian Brooks is creating a new work - called "Panorama" - for a cast of 35, ages 12-15, to music by Michael Gordon. Julia Eichten, a recent graduate of Juilliard and gifted young choreographer with a gloriously antic bent, is staging her solo "Monsieur," music by Jacques Brel, for Kids Dance.
