Two Percussion Concerts Set for The Winter Center, 4/24-25

Millersville University's Department of Music presents two back to back percussion concerts on Friday & Saturday, April 24 & 25 at the Winter Center located at 60 W. Cottage Avenue, Millersville. The first concert on Friday, April 24 at 7:30 pm titled World Percussion Concert will feature the West African Music and Dance Ensemble as well as the Millersville University Percussion Ensemble and will include music from various countries like Guinea, Ghana, Cuba and South Africa. The performance will be directed by Professor James Armstrong.

Millersville University will be hosting a PAS Day of Percussion Gala Concert on Saturday, April 25 starting at 7:30 pm. The Gala Concert will include performances by the Lancaster Marimba Ensemble, directed by Daniel Heslink, Daniel Glass and Christos Rafalides with the Millersville University Jazz Ensemble, directed by MU faculty, Dr. Keith Wiley, and the MU Percussion Ensemble directed by MU faculty, James Armstrong. Armstrong alongside Stephen Goss will be directing the Lancaster All-Star High School Percussion ensemble for the Gala.

Tickets for each concert are $10 and free to MU students with valid ID. Tickets can be purchased by calling 717-871-7600 or visit www.ArtsMU.com. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Ticket Office located in the Student Memorial Center on Millersville's campus, or the Ware Center, located at 42 N. Prince Street, in Lancaster. Doors open one hour before each show for ticket sales, subject to availability.
