The Hershey Symphony Orchestra Will Perform Free Independence Day Concert
An American Salute will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026.
The Hershey Symphony Orchestra invites the community to celebrate Independence Day with its annual free concert on the lawn of Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. An American Salute begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026. There is no rain date for the concert.
“The concert is a celebration of the music of America,” said Maestro Greg Woodbridge. “In honor of the 4th of July, we will be performing patriotic favorites as well as music from the stage and screen. This year I've invited vocalist Julie Knott to sing a selection or two with us. A Harrisburg native, Julie is earning advanced degrees from the Peabody Conservatory in vocal performance. She is quickly climbing the ladder of a successful career, and we're thrilled to have her join us.”
“As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation, the Hershey Symphony Orchestra is honored to perform this special American Salute concert,” said Susan Cort, executive director of the Hershey Symphony Orchestra. “Music has a unique way of uniting people across generations and backgrounds, and this free community event is an opportunity to celebrate our shared history, our patriotism, and the music that brings us together.”
The concert is sponsored by Penn State Health, Penn State College of Medicine and the Hershey Symphony Orchestra with support from Life Source Water, KCA Financial, and Hershey Expositions. Parking is free and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Guests should note that while pets are allowed, they must be on a leash. Fireworks are not permitted at the event.
Complimentary water will be provided and drinks and food will be available for purchase from food trucks at the event. Guests may also bring their own food and drinks.
