The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra in conjunction with the Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and the Dexter District Libraries co-host a series of fun, interactive Charming Cello KinderConcerts.

KinderConcerts are free, 30-minute concerts designed especially for children 2-6 years old. Members of your A2SO join child movement expert Gari Stein and piano collaborationist Kathryn Goodson for a guided introduction to the instruments of the orchestra. This fun, active learning environment allows children the opportunity to enjoy music while encouraging learning and creativity. Performances are at 9:30 and 10:30 am at the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti District Libraries and at 10:00 am at the Dexter District Library. Doors open 10 minutes prior to each performance. Charming Cello with Eric Amidon:

Cellist Eric Amidon began studying the cello at the age of three under Elizabeth Balch in Madison WI. At the age of nine, Eric performed as a soloist with the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra, and has since performed solo works with the Pioneer Symphony and DePauw Symphony Orchestras. He has participated in festivals throughout North America, including two years at the Orford Arts Festival and has performed in master classes with Jeffrey Solow, Tanya Carey, Anthony Elliot, and Leonard Hokinson. Eric earned his Bachelor Degree in 1997 from DePauw University where he studied with Eric Edberg, and with Joel Cohen while studying in Vienna, Austria. In addition to his position with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra he regularly plays regional engagements with chamber ensembles. Thank you to our Sponsors! KinderConcerts are free because of the generous support of the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor, Ray & Eleanor Cross Foundation, Rotary Club of Ann Arbor, Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, and David & Stephanie Pyne.
