ROCO Brass Quintet Presents CROSSING OVER THE ENGLISH CHANNEL, Tonight!

In their second quintet program, the musicians of the RBQ will perform works of composers from either side of the English Channel (U.K. and France.) Summer Dances by William Mathias is a very lively work in 6 movements. Mathias' contemporary, Alun Hoddinott, also wrote a very charming work for brass quintet, about 8 years earlier than Mathias, based on Welsh nursery tunes. Patrice Caratini is a French jazz bassist who wrote a wonderful work for quintet, Passages, which crosses over between jazz and classical styles of music.
The ROCO Brass Quintet presents "Crossing Over the English Channel" on Friday, Jan. 27, at 6:30 pm at MATCH and on Sunday, Jan. 29, at 5 pm at The Woodlands United Methodist Church.
For the Jan. 27 performance, join us at 6 p.m. for complimentary "Happy Half-Hour" at the MATCH, featuring appropriately themed Sidecars.ROCO partners with Brennan's for an unbelievable night of dining and music. For "Crossing Over the English Channel" on Jan. 27 at the MATCH, concert goers will have the opportunity to also include a three-course menu themed after the performance.
