Halloween is about to get REAL weird. For the first time anywhere, EVER, The Strand Theater and Asbury Park Press "soul sensation" Remember Jones present R. Kelly's TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET LIVE with a 20-piece orchestra tonight, October 31st, doors at 7:30PM, show at 8PM. Tickets are $20 (plus $5 fee) and available at www.strand.org.

Written and produced by pop/R&B sensation R. Kelly, the series tells a story of a one-night-stand which sets off a chain of events, gradually revealing a greater web of lies, sex, and deceit. It has spawned record and DVD releases, Internet success, and countless pop-culture parodies. REMEMBER JONES and company will present the first 12 chapters, note for note, in their entirety with an orchestra of 20. This has never been performed live ANYWHERE and will happen for ONE NIGHT ONLY, Halloween night! The finale will have over 40 performers on stage celebrating the cult phenomenon.

Immediately following the event, a costume contest dance party and upcoming Strand Theater giveaways will celebrate the evening and officially openGALLERY, a new live music and arts venue on Clifton Avenue in Lakewood. Popular New Jersey bands MAD FEATHER GROUP, THE SHADY STREET SHOW BAND, CHRIS ROCKWELL, and REMEMBER JONES + THE EMANCIPATION CONGREGATION will perform for a limited capacity, $5 cash entry, with a full cash bar.

The Strand Theater, a 1000-seat, non-profit run entertainment venue in Lakewood, NJ, recently announced Anthony D'Amato as Producing Artistic Director (NJ premiere of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, acclaimed productions throughout the country of HAIR, Ring of Fire, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Rocky Horror Show, more) and as stage persona Remember Jones, he has toured the country and presented acclaimed events such as back to BACK TO BLACK: the entire Amy Winehouse album with a 25-piece orchestra, a re-creation of Joe Cocker's MAD DOGS & ENGLISHMEN with a 20-piece band and guests, and countless concert events. Following TRAPPED, he will present and host NOW That's What I Call Music LIVE!, celebrations of the infamous compilation album sold as a subscription series, with the original NOW album on Friday, November 27th.
