Palisades Virtuosi to Present GIFTS FROM THE HEART Concert

The Palisades Virtuosi flute, clarinet and piano trio presents Gifts From the Heart, a concert of works inspired by friendship, on Friday, November 4 at 8:00 PM at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation in the Fair Lawn Community Center, 10-10 20th Street in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. The evening will include a pre-concert talk at 7:15 PM and reception after the performance.

The program will include a newly commissioned work for the Virtuosi by Joseph M. Russo (josephmrusso-composermusician.blogspot.com). This is part of the ensemble's "Mission to Commission", and celebrates this and the 75 works previously created for them since 2003.

Other works on the program include 7 Postcards to Old Friends by Robert Russell Bennett, Friendship Rag by David Greenfield Bowie, Clarinet Sonata by Johannes Brahms and Four Anniversaries by Leonard Bernstein.

The Palisades Virtuosi, consisting of flutist Margaret Swinchoski, clarinetist Donald Mokrynski and pianist Ron Levy, is a 501 (c)(3) organization established to promote and enrich the repertoire for flute, clarinet and piano and present concerts that include existing and newly-commissioned repertoire for this configuration (each of their concerts includes a work commissioned by the ensemble), supplemented by solos, duos and larger works featuring guest artists.
