Tickets flew out the door for the December 4, 2014 Benaroya Hall concert by the popular Canadian Folk Bluegrass band The Wailin' Jenny's. A second concert will be added at 7:30 pm on Wednesday December 3, 2014 inside Benaroya Hall's Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall. On January 20 and 22, 2015 the dozen musicians that make up the Portland-based Pink Martini join forces with the Seattle Symphony for two concerts in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium. The Seattle Symphony Associate Conductor Stilian Kirov will lead the Pink Martini concerts.
Tickets to The Wailin' Jennys and Pink Martini go on sale to the public on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 10am.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Loudon Wainwright III has had a long and illustrious career, with 20 album releases and three Grammy Award nominations so far. His songs, filled with sharp wit and a self-mocking style, have been recorded by the likes of Johnny Cash and Earl Scruggs, and his latest album (Older Than My Old Man Now) was named one of NPR's Top 10 Albums of 2012. Wainwright has also appeared in films and on TV including small parts in: The Aviator, Elizabethtown, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Parks and Recreation.

A dominant presence in Irish music for the last quarter-century, singer Mary Black has earned international appeal through her exploration of work from new composers and her commitment to fresh material. Her unique song interpretations and incredibly pure vocals have resulted in platinum album sales and countless hits. This is her Benaroya Hall debut.

This dynamic guitarist, singer, activist and "slack-rock" guitar pioneer returns to Benaroya Hall. Hailing from the isle of Oahu, Makana transcends musical categories and trends by integrating elements of folk, rock, ethnic, bluegrass, jazz and Hawaiian slack key. The result is pure innovation and the charting of new sonic frontiers with deep ties to tradition. He is considered the youngest authority on his art form and recognized as one of the top guitarists in the US (Guitar Player Magazine 2008). In 2011, his music was featured in the George Clooney film, The Descendants. The New York Times calls him "A dynamic force within the style of slack key" and Esquire Magazine reminds us that "Makana is to be considered the greatest living player of slack key guitar music."
