Noted conductor Jason C. Tramm will lead a concert version of Puccini's Madama Butterfly Wednesday January 4th, 7:30 PM at the National Opera Center in New York City. Madama Butterfly is presented by the New York Opera Collaborative and is a co-production of the MidAtlantic Opera, Randsman Artist Management, the Narnia Festival and the DelGiudice Voice Studio.

Hosted by renown soprano Andrea DelGiudice, the concert will feature the superb voices of soprano Ashley Bell (Sarasota Opera) as Cio -Cio- San, mezzo soprano Augusta Caso (Sarasota Opera) as Suzuki, tenor Victor Starsky (Opera North) as F.B. Pinkerton, baritone Seung Hyeon Baek (Sarasota Opera) as Sharpless, tenor Jordan Pitts as Goro, baritone Suchan Kim (Sarasota Opera) singing the roles of Prince Yamadori and The Bonze and soprano Nicole Guberman singing Kate Pinkerton. Pianist Michael Fennelly will accompany the performance.

Coincidently Giacomo Puccini's sublime masterwork "Madama Butterfly" which premiered at Teatro alla Scala in Milan in 1904 was inspired by David Belasco's one act play "Madame Butterfly: A Tragedy of Japan" which opened within a half mile of the National Opera Center at the Herald Square Theatre on March 5 1900 in NYC.

Jason C. Tramm's work in the symphonic, operatic, and choral repertoire has received acclaim nationally and internationally. As Artistic Director of the MidAtlantic Opera Tramm made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2015 conducting "A Prayer for Peace" featuring Behzad Ranjbaran Elegy for Cello and Strings, Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem and Adnan Saygun's Selections from Yunis Emre. He led the MidAtlantic Opera's 2014 production of Rigoletto and "Verdiana" in honor of the Verdi Bicentennial. As Artistic Director of the NJ State Opera he conducted the 75th anniversary production of the Gershwin's Porgy and Bess at Newark's Symphony Hall and the HDTV broadcast presentation with PBS affiliate NJN, of "Verdi Requiem: Live from Ocean Grove" which garnered a regional Emmy Award nomination. Tramm serves as Director of Music Ministries, Ocean Grove CMA, conducting sacred and secular works. His concerts from the historic Great Auditorium include national broadcasts of Léon Boëllmann's Fantasie-Dialogue for Organ and Orchestra, Op. 35 with famed organist Gordon Turk and the Rittenhouse Orchestra, and Alexandre Guilmant's Symphony Number 1 in d for Organ and Orchestra featured on American Public Media's classical music show "Pipe Dreams." He currently holds the position of Artistic Advisor and conductor for the Adelphi Orchestra. Tramm serves on the faculty at Seton Hall University as Assistant Professor and Director of Choral Activities, College of Communication and the Arts where he leads the University Choir, Chamber Choir, Orchestra, and teaches voice and conducting.

He recently appeared with the Oltenia Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and Academic Choir of Romania (12/21-23/2016). In 2017 Jason Tramm's guest conducting engagements will include the Narnia Festival in Italy, where he will conduct Puccini's operas Gianni Schicchi and Suor Angelica. In February 2017 Tramm conducts Verdi masterworks, "Rigoletto" with South Carolina's Palmetto Opera (2/20/17) and "La Traviata" with Opera New Hampshire (2/25/17).
