Originally scheduled for Saturday, November 3rd, Cantori's 2012-13 season opener FELIX UND CLARA, featuring Kathleen Chalfant, has been postponed to November 11th at 7:30 p.m.

The US premiere of Felix und Clara by Dutch composer Jacques Bank describes the troubled relationship of Clara Schumann and her son Felix -- the chorus sings the voice of Felix, and noted actor Kathleen Chalfant (Angels in America; Wit) takes the role of Clara.

Also featured on this program is the world premiere of Four Songs by Frank Brickle. The composer has skillfully arrived at atmospheric treatments of an unusual collection of texts by four 20th century American poets within the throbbing soundscape of a string quartet. Four Songs was commissioned by Cantori New York with generous support from the Roger Shapiro Fund.

Cantori New York celebrates its 28th season featuring new and neglected works that deserve to be performed and heard. 3rd-prize winner of the 2012 American Prize in Choral Performance, and three time winner of the ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, Cantori has built a strong reputation for artistic excellence and innovative programming.

The concert will now take place on Sunday, November 11 at 7:30pm at the Church of St. Luke in the Fields, 487 Hudson Street, NYC. Tickets $25 (seniors $20; students / children $5). For details and tickets, click HERE.
