City-Scapes showcases music influenced by the history, culture and mythology of the places we call home, including works by Duke Ellington, Johann Strauss, Jennifer Higdon and Michael Daugherty. Begin your musical journey with Chicago Sinfonietta's Digital Guide to City-Scapes, where you'll find audio, video, links and more on the composers and their works.

The centerpiece of the concert is ChiScape, a new work commissioned by the Chicago Sinfonietta, inspired by Chicago's iconic architecture and written by four of symphonic music's most dynamic young composers.

Stop by the Chicago Architecture Foundation Lunch Talk on Wednesday, June 5 to meet ChiScape composers Armando Bayolo, Vivian Fung, Jonathan Bailey Holland and Chris Rogerson. Get the inside track on the making of ChiScape in the composer's own words, view images of the buildings that inspired them, and be among the first to hear exclusive excerpts from the score.

This free program takes place at the CAF's Lecture Hall Gallery, 224 S. Michigan Avenue, at 12:15.

Also, don't miss Prelude, a free pre-concert discussions at both Wentz Concert Hall and Symphony Center with all four ChiScape composers. Complete details on time and place are at the Digital Guide.

Sat., June 8, 8pm
Wentz Concert Hall, Naperville

Sun., June 9, 3pm
