Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Premieres SPICES, PERFUMES, TOXINS! & More Tonight

By:

ATLANTA - Music Director Robert Spano will conduct the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's premiere of Avner Dorman's Spices, Perfumes, Toxins! and Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony tonight and tomorrow, September 24 and September 26, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Spices, Perfumes, Toxins! is Israeli composer Dorman's concerto for percussion and orchestra. "The title refers to three substances that are extremely appealing yet filled with danger," said Mr. Dorman. "Spices delight the palate, but can cause illness; perfumes seduce, but can also betray; toxins bring ecstasy, but are deadly."

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra principal percussionist Thomas Sherwood and percussionist Charles Settle are the featured performers for the concert.

Tickets are $20-$79. Additional details are available at aso.org.
