2013–14 SEASON OF NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC ENSEMBLES BEGINS AT MERKIN CONCERT HALL SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2013

The New York Philharmonic Ensembles, composed of musicians from the Orchestra, will begin its 2013-14 season on Sunday, October 20, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Merkin Concert Hall with a concert featuring Mozart's Flute Quartet in C major, Faure?'s Piano Trio, and Brahms's Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor. The musicians on the first program will be violinists Kuan Cheng Lu, Joo Young Oh, and Yulia Ziskel; violists Re?mi Pelletier and Robert Rinehart; cellists Alexei Yupanqui Gonzales, Patrick Jee, and Qiang Tu; flutist Yoobin Son; and guest pianists He?le?ne Jeanney and Alexander Kobrin.

The 2013-14 New York Philharmonic Ensembles series, which spotlights Philharmonic musicians in an intimate chamber music setting, will continue at Merkin Concert Hall on November 17, January 26, March 23, April 13, and May 25 - all on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m.

Since 1984 the Philharmonic Ensembles series has presented diverse programming of both classical masterpieces and modern compositions. Ensembles concerts are also offered on the Orchestra's international and domestic tours, on separate chamber music tours, and at locations throughout New York City.
