Radney Foster Releases 'For You To See The Stars' Audiobook

Radney Foster is not good at sitting still. The last fifteen months saw the release of For You To See The Stars, a full-length album and companion book filled with short stories to accompany each track. Austin Chronicle called the book a "touching read that confirms Foster's master storytelling." Fans will now be able to hear Radney in full storyteller mode, self-narrating his tales on a newly released unabridged audiobook, available here. The deluxe version of the 5-disc audiobook also contains the album's eleven songs, each paired with their respective story.

Radney Foster has also announced a slew of 2019 tour dates including Los Angeles's famed Hotel Cafe, City Winery in Nashville, and perennial fan-favorite, Merlefest, as well as a number home-state shows in Port Aransas, Austin, Plano, San Antonio, Houston, and Tomball, Texas. See a full list of Radney's upcoming tour dates below.

Those Texas roots continue to tug at Foster, who grew up in Del Rio, on the Mexican border. Late last year Foster responded to the crisis of children being separated at the southern border by re-writing and re-releasing a bilingual version of his 1999 song "Godspeed (Sweet Dreams)". "When I originally wrote 'Godspeed,' I was a desperate father, separated by thousands of miles, literally a continent, from my son. I can only imagine the desperation of these parents and children."

In the reimagined lullaby, "Godspeed (Dulces Sueños)", a parent sings his child to sleep on a harrowing journey, in the hopes of finding safe haven. Proceeds from Foster's new version benefit the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) Texas, an advocacy group working on behalf of immigrants. The video for "Godspeed (Dulces Sueños)" can be seen here.

Foster has long since established himself as a troubadour and storyteller, racking up eight number-one singles throughout his three-decades-and-counting career, one with his iconic duo Foster & Lloyd. Radney's songs have also been recorded by a genre-spanning list of artists. Keith Urban, Marc Broussard, The Dixie Chicks, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Luke Bryan, Kenny Loggins, Los Lonely Boys, and Hootie & the Blowfish all know first hand the impact Foster's songs have on fans. For You To See The Stars is Radney's eleventh record, and he shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
