Opal Book Publishing is Proud to Announce Its First Poet, By Way Of Brooklyn, NY

Mary'Sun The Poet, married and father of two, has been writing poetry for over 20 years before deciding to have his works heard, noticed, and now published. His writing was his way of dealing with years of pain and the need to heal. The inspiration to his writings came from the feeling of making amends with his mother Mary, now deceased. Mary'Sun states that his poetry is his life and his therapy. It liberates him to face himself head on and without judgement or fear.

Outside of writing poetry, Mary'Sun enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two daughters, as well as a little recreational basketball, when he's not continuously absorbing past experiences and brainstorming.

"Donna's Collections," due to release on September 10, 2016, consists of a variety of beautiful poems, reflecting his wife and the many struggles throughout their relationship. His poetry also covers many other facets of life, especially from a personal point of view, as well as all passing experiences with impact one's life.

When asked the question of what motivates him to write, he responded, "The connection to others emotions and experiences as well as relieving my own backed-up emotions."

He feels that this book is important for people to read because he finds himself to be very confident in his work and feel that everyone somewhere, will find a piece of themselves in his poetry.

Mary'Sun The Poet, made his first appearance reciting work from his poetry at the NYC Poetry Festival at Governor's Island on July 31, 2016, which turned out to be a success. He also plans to make many more appearances within the New York area, as well as abroad.

His biggest supporter is his wife of many years, who continuously stands by him unconditionally. In addition, he'd like to thank those friends who also motivated him into finally getting his work published. Therefore, he is also working on the release of the second volume of poems for his next project.
