New Memoir, LONELY CHILD, Reveals Woman's Life Story

Growing up with people who make one feel like a stranger must be one of the most difficult things to handle, especially if one is the oldest child. Author Laura Lark was uprooted from the comfort of her grandmother's care to live with parents that she barely knew. With them, she experienced many hardships and she struggled to breakaway. When she regained her freedom to confront life's challenges on her own, that's when she learned that there were more in the world than what she originally thought. She reminisce her past in her new publication, "Lonely Child."

This personal story entails Lark's birth and her growing up with estranged, unknown parents who forced her to become an adult while still being a very young child. The disappointments and sufferings that she confronted as a child were horrible and overwhelming along with the agony and the intense physical anguish of the forced departure from her grandmother who, like a mother, raised her from birth. As she was yanked from her grandmother's arms, she was forced to leave her childhood and heaven behind to enter into a different world while enduring and tolerating the abuse of her unwanted parents. She was always treated like a maid or a stepchild.

Finally, she was brave enough to escape from them to begin her life as an adult who faces new challenges. She could see her memories, her past, and all the events being projected in front of her eyes as she escaped from the parents as well as the struggles she endured as she entered the adult world, encountering different abuses with toxic relationships that forced her to face situations of life and death. This book is the chronicle of her journey to the horizon of her life.

Inspiring and very insightful, "Lonely Child" gives readers a glimpse into a child's sufferings and how this opened new doors to a life filled with trials, tribulations and learning that made her into who she is today.

About the Author

For years, Laura Lark has always wanted to tell the story of her life. Now at age of 65, she looks back and often finds herself getting lost in her memories. She found that writing is a way of journaling all those memories and reflecting on the many blessings life has finally given her. It was a long and hard journey, but she treasures the lessons and the fruits that it bore. She presently shares her precious life with her husband of twenty-seven years in their home in California. She held many jobs in her journey, including agriculture and real estate, and finally retired from the food industry. Currently, she is enjoying and keeping busy with her notary and translation businesses. She has a strong passion for gardening where she spends a lot of her spare time. She is a mother of three wonderful children, four stepchildren, and many grandchildren, whom she enjoys very much.
