Everly Leech" onclick="linkClick(this.href)" href="http://www.imdb.me/beverlyleech">BEverly Leech is the very model of a working actress. A veteran of stage, television and film, including Broadway and series regular commitments, she recently celebrated her thirtieth year in show business. It's a tough career with great reward and for Leech it hasn't always been easy, but her talent and determination has kept her in the game. As her mentor-teacher Stella Adler was famous for saying, "Life beats down and crushes your soul. Art reminds you that you have one."

Leech learned from Adler the importance of having a driving desire to pass on the knowledge and experience of acting to others. In 2000, Leech began teaching at numerous different schools in the Los Angeles area and realized there was a major need in the acting programs that was not being addressed. Graduating actors being sent out into the marketplace were not being prepared for what was ahead of them.

"New actors coming into the marketplace have to face the fact they won't pay the rent with artistry, unless they put in the time and effort to organize their portfolio and streamline interview techniques toward a professionally thoughtful and businesslike presentation. Actors can't do one without the other." says Leech

Recent guest star bookings on television shows such as "Modern Family," and her recurring role as Rene Sparks on "Rizzoli & Isles," shows Leech's insight comes from being active in the entertainment landscape, implementing and executing what she teaches. Success to Leech has been about the hard work that has ensured her longevity.

"The purpose of this book is for young actors to reach for legitimate skills and services; to find work in this industry; to survive its ever-changing tastes, and crickets-or-cannonballs energy." says Leech. Starting with a realistic game plan, each successive chapter is the actor's next move: from headshots and resumes, to getting an agent, talent contracts, comprehensive submission techniques, auditioning for stage/television and film, unions, scams and more.

Academy Award winning Writer/Director Bobby Moresco ("Crash" "Million Dollar Baby") calls Leech "As good as it gets. Smart, talented, hard-working and a true craftsman."

Karen Hensel, Program Director for South Coast Repertory calls the book "a perfect guide for the young actor learning the ropes. This book has some of the most specific material I have ever seen - and delivered with humor!"
