"Burn: A Love Story will keep romance readers guessing, laughing, and crying until its satisfying conclusion." - D. Donovan, Senior eBook Reviewer, Midwest Book Review

Colton Lawrence, author of How to Be Popular in the Sixth Grade (Bantam) and Big Fat Paycheck: A Young Person's Guide to Writing for the Movies (Random House), debuts his first adult novel, Burn: A Love Story. The novel challenges the boundaries of tragicomedy and romance and blurs the well-defined lines of love, sexuality, and identity to expose the beautiful, dysfunctional mess people become when good love goes wrong.

Gerry McAuliffe has it all. Stunningly good looks. A new fiancée with Mexican cartel connections. A mother who doubles as an ATM. Divorce papers signed and finalized. What more could one man ask for?

Erin, Gerry's ex-wife, is not as broken up over him as he would like her to be. She posts a profile on an online dating website and hooks up with a man who begins to show her what unselfish love feels like. He's not tall, dark and handsome. He's short, fat and balding. But he's a lovely person and Erin has never been happier. About to lose Erin forever, Gerry suddenly wants his old life back and he sets in motion the most unconventional plan to regain his wife.

Burn: A Love Story displays Lawrence's cinematic background as each short chapter unfolds into a succession of scenes documenting the deconstruction of Gerry's life and Erin's burgeoning love of her new man, Jaime Q. Cohen.

Burn: A Love Story illustrates what happens when people travel down the rabbit hole through their choices and search for a wonderland, but find questions and tragedy, which redefine them instead. The novel gives new meaning to the adage, "Old flames never die."
