Boston Nonprofit #Lean Enterprise Institute Moves to Innovation... The nonprofit Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI), a global leader in lean thinking and practice, today announced that it has moved to Boston’s Seaport Innovation District to enhance its ability to collaborate and create new products and services.

LEI’s new address is 27-43 Wormwood Street, Tower Point, Suite 410
Boston, MA, 02210. All other contact information, including email addresses and telephone numbers, remain the same.

“We wanted to connect with one of the world's greatest, most diverse centers of innovation, research, education, and entrepreneurship,” said LEI CEO Eric Buehrens. The Seaport Innovation District is located on 1,000 acres on South Boston's waterfront peninsula between the Boston Harbor, Boston Logan Airport, and two major highways.

“As we mark 20 years in business, our new office and training facility will help us collaborate more effectively and creatively to fulfill our mission of helping organizations create more value and prosperity while consuming the fewest possible resources,” he said.

New Space, New Books, New Training
The new space will showcase LEI’s latest interactive training workshop workshop, “Building a Lean Management System.” The two-day training is built around a simulation in which participants, under the watchful eyes of coaches, develop lean operating and management systems by assuming the roles of operators, process engineers, team leaders, and managers.

Information about course content, instructors, discounts, and how to register are available by calling (617) 871-2900, emailing registrar(at)lean(dot)org, or visiting LEI’s lean management training page here.

LEI also recently announced two new book titles:

  • Four Types of Problems by Art Smalley provides an effective deep-dive framework for leaders and teams tackling any type of problem from reactive troubleshooting to creative innovation. Available now.
  • Designing the Future (co-published with McGraw-Hill) by Jim Morgan and Jeff Liker reveals how great companies in a variety of sectors are using lean product development to revolutionize their product and service offerings to become engines of innovation. Available October 26, 2018.
