Brooklyn-based dance education non-profit Dancewave is pleased to announce that over 65% of the students who participated in the 2017 college dance audition program, Dancing Through College & Beyond (DTCB), have been offered over $3.4 million in scholarships to participating colleges, universities and professional dance programs. Held in October 2017 at the 92nd Street Y, DTCB welcomed more than 300 students from all over the country for an opportunity to explore college dance programs. DTCB includes a college fair, master classes, and panels on health, wellness, careers, and financial aid for all high school dancers and a live audition for high school seniors.

"We are proud to offer free access to college search and audition opportunities for high school students particularly because the college application process is so complex and expensive" said Diane Jacobowitz, Executive and Artistic Director of Dancewave. "To lessen the financial barriers that often come with the audition process and enable those high school seniors that are serious about dance the opportunity to audition for these elite programs speaks to our mission to make dance accessible to all."

In an award ceremony held at Peridance Capezio Center's Salvatore Capezio Theater on Sunday, April 8, 2018, students, college and program representatives and Dancewave's leadership team gathered to celebrate those students who received merit-based scholarships for the coming school year.
