FSPA to Hold Fall Open House September 10th
The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will hold an Open House on Saturday, September 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 38 Main Street, Franklin. The community is invited to come meet the faculty, tour the facility and learn about FSPA's programs in Music, Dance and Drama. FSPA's classes are designed for all ages and levels of ability, and beginners are welcome.
FSPA offers extensive and varied programs in Music, Dance and Drama. The Music Department offers private voice lessons, group voice classes, instrumental instruction and ensembles, and classes for young children. Little Music School, exclusive to FSPA, is an innovative music program that teaches children as young as 18 months to play the piano and explore the musical world around them.
The FSPA Dance Department includes many options in ballet, featuring both a Conservatory Pointe Program and Demi-Pointe Track with opportunities for teens to begin ballet in class with their peers. FSPA offers professional instruction in Tap, Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop with classes for boys and adults. The school will hold auditions in September for the junior dance company "Next Step" and senior dance company "Centerstage."
The School's Drama Department offers a complete curriculum in acting and musical theater with performing ensembles by audition for grades 5-12. For Fall 2011, FSPA will present a pop musical spoof entitled Bye Bye Bieber on October 22nd at the Thomas D. Mercer auditorium, Horace Mann Middle School. Auditions, open to students currently enrolled at FSPA, will be held Saturday, September 17th according to the following schedule: ages 8-10: 1:00 p.m.; ages 11-13: 1:45 p.m., and ages 14-18, 2:30 p.m. Interested students can learn more at the September 10th Open House.
