Tara Bennett is a Jill-of-All-Trades who currently works as an Instructor of Communication in the Department of Communication & Media Studies at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. When she is not working, she enjoys acting, belly dancing and working as a freelance makeup artist. Tara's passion for theatre began at an early age, which she enjoys sharing through her writing. In 2008 and 2009, she had the pleasant opportunity to take her theatrical education further by training with the National Critics Institute and studied theatre abroad in London.

The queens take control of their narratives, highlighting their strengths, struggles and resilience. Their empowerment resonated with me as someone who appreciates stories of strong and independent women.
BWW-Interview Beln Moyano of HADESTOWN at Saenger Theatre - Before I loved theatre, I loved Greek mythology. This retelling of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice set in a post-apocalyptic, blues-inspired world brings a fresh perspective. The musical weaves a captivating and unique narrative, drawing audiences in a similar way Orpheus draws in Hades.
