A revival of American Gladiators, the popular physical competition show that pits everyday people against famous athletes through an obstacle course is being shopped around by MGM, according to Deadline.

In The Tall Grass is about to begin production in Toronto for Netflix, according to Deadline. The Vincenzo Natali-directed thriller Patrick Wilson, Laysla De Oliveira and Harrison Gilbertson.

Duncan Jones is to make his television series directing debut with an adaptation of the thriller novel Killer Intent, according to Deadline. Liberty Films will produce the adaptation of Tony Kent's book.

Prolific helmer Anthony Hemingway will be the recipient of the 2018 HollyShorts Film Festival Indie Maverick Award. He will be presented the Award during the festival's opening night celebration this Thursday August 9 at the TCL Chinese Theater. Past HollyShorts Indie Maverick honorees include Paul Haggis, David Lynch, Eli Roth, Joe Carnahan and Matthew Modine. The festival's opening night celebration will be hosted by Ben Lyons host of 'The Oscars: All Access' for Oscar.com and ABC News.

Ryan Murphy has taken to Twitter to announce that Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Stevie Nicks will be returning for American Horror Story: Apocalypse. This news comes not long after it was announced that Jessica Lange would also be returning to reprise her Murder House character, Constance Langdon.

The Plain White T's hit song'Hey There Delilah' is being adapted into a scripted TV series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The band is teaming with Lively McCabe Entertainment and Primary Wave to develop a scripted romantic dramedy based on its  single, which is about a long-distance relationship.

ABC has announced green lights for its “Sunday Fun & Games” programming block: “Celebrity Family Feud” for its fifth season, and “The $100,000 Pyramid” and “To Tell the Truth” for their fourth seasons. ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey made the announcement today at the network's Television Critics Association press tour. The programming block has fueled many ratings victories for the network, which has ranked as the No. 1 broadcaster on each week the block has aired this summer among Adults 18-49.

Ruby Rose is set to play Batwoman, the lesbian superhero for the CW, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rose's Batwoman will first appear in the December DC crossover event, with Greg Berlanti planning a stand-alone series revolving around the character.

ABC announced today a two-hour prime-time special celebrating 90 years of Mickey Mouse. From the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, the elegant affair will feature star-studded musical performances, moving tributes and never-before-seen short films. Apple has landed rights to develop an international drama series based on Min Jin Lee's best-selling novel Pachinko, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The drama landed at Apple with a sizable script-to-series commitment. 

Netflix is close to closing on on Black Stallions, which features a cast of Lil Rel Howery, Don Cheadle and Kevin Hart in a comedy about rival brother jockeys, according to Deadline.

CBS has ordered MILLION DOLLAR MILE (working title), a new 10-episode high-stakes competition series that challenges everyday athletes' physical and mental toughness like never before with an opportunity to change their lives forever.

Oscar-nominated Bruce Dern and Emmy Award-winning Brian Cox are set to star in Remember Me, a film by Martin Rosete, according to Variety. The film will go into production on August 24th, shooting in Spain, France and Los Angeles.

New York based Rialto Pictures will release John Carpenter's landmark horror movie THE FOG on October 26, in its first-ever major restoration. The horror classic, in a full 4K restoration from Studiocanal, opens October 26 for limited runs at the Metrograph, in New York, Landmark's Nuart in Los Angeles, and The Music Box Theatre in Chicago.

Winning all 6 half-hours of the night with “The Bachelorette” 3-hour Season 14 finale, ABC dominated runner-up NBC on Monday by 2.0 million viewers (6.7 million vs. 4.7 million) and doubled it among Adults 18-49 (+100% - 1.8/8 vs. 0.9/4), taking the young adult broadcast lead for the 9th week in a row this summer. “The Bachelorette” closed out as Monday's No. 1 TV program in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, standing as the No. 1 series on the night on each telecast of the season with young adults (11 consecutive weeks).

During the week of July 23, 2018, “Live with Kelly and Ryan” matched an 8-week high in Households (since the w/o 5/28/18), improving over the prior week by 11% (2.1 rating vs. 1.9 rating). In addition, “Live” grew week to week by 7% in Total Viewers (2.777 million vs. 2.584 million) to its largest overall audience since the beginning of July – since the week of 7/2/18.
