The Drama Book Shop (250 W. 40th Street, NYC) will host a Q&A and book signing with Tim Federle, author of the Broadway coming-of-age novel Better Nate Than Ever, on February 5th at 5:30 PM. The Q&A will be moderated by Thomas Schumacher, President of Disney Theatrical Productions. Already earning rave reviews from critics and celebrities alike, Better Nate Than Ever, Federle's debut novel, is being released the same day by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. The book recently launched at the Junior Theater Festival, for an enthusiastic audience of over 4000 theater-loving kids.

The Museum of Modern Art presents Bill Brandt: Shadow and Light, a major critical reevaluation of the heralded career of Bill Brandt (British, b. Germany, 1904-83) from March 6 to August 12, 2013. A founding figure in photography's modernist traditions, Brandt ranks among the visionaries who, in the diversity of their approach, established the creative potential of photography based on observation of the world around them. Brandt's distinctive vision-his ability to present the mundane world as fresh and strange-emerged in London in the 1930s, and drew from his time in the Paris studio of Man Ray. His visual explorations of the society, landscape, and literature of England are indispensable to any understanding of photographic history and, arguably, to our understanding of life in Britain during the middle of the 20th century. Bill Brandt: Shadow and Light is organized by Sarah Meister, Curator, with Drew Sawyer, Beaumont and Nancy Newhall Curatorial Fellow, Department of Photography.

The 2013 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by American Express, today announced the participants of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival Artists Awards Program, sponsored by CHANEL. Twelve contemporary artists, including Stephen Hannock, David Kratz, Curtis Kulig, Gillian Laub, Robert Longo, Angelina Nasso, Erik Parker, Jose Parla, Joyce Pensato, Clifford Ross, William Wegman and Dustin Yellin will donate their artwork to be presented to the filmmakers whose films are selected by the TFF jury as winners in their respective categories. The Tribeca Film Festival Artists Awards Program was created by TFF co-founder Jane Rosenthal to celebrate New York artists. This year's TFF will run April 17-28, 2013.
