The Shakespeare OP Players Will Present MACBETH, 2/7-24February 13, 2013The Shakespeare OP Players present Shakespeare's Macbeth in original pronunciation (OP), i.e. Early Modern English as spoken in the late 16th-early 17th century in London. In OP, the subtleties, intimacy, puns, rhyming and characterizations in Shakespeare's plays and poetry are more audible than they are in contemporary English. The modern presentation of Shakespeare's plays in period pronunciation is gaining momentum and the Shakespeare OP Players are proud to bring their second production to New York next month, following a successful run of Twelfth Night in OP last year at the American Theatre of Actors (ATA).
Capital Stage Extends THE NORTH PLAN Through 3/3February 13, 2013Capital Stage announced today it will extend its critically acclaimed Sacramento premiere of THE NORTH PLAN by Jason Wells by one additional week. The third production of Capital Stage's season of 'Power Plays' opened on Saturday, January 26, 2013 and was originally scheduled to close on February 24, 2013. The new closing date is March 3, 2013.
Flashpoint Theatre Company Presents World Premiere of THE BENDS, Beginning 3/13February 13, 2013Flashpoint Theatre Company dives deep into their 2012-2013 season, titled XX, as the company presents the World Premiere of Megan Mostyn-Brown's The Bends. WICKED Will Offer Lottery at the Bob Carr Performing Arts CentreFebruary 13, 2013A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED, which is returning to the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre with performances from February 20-March 10. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets.
